Tennis Champions to Play at Cincinnati Open 2022


The Cincinnati open is about to start again. This court tennis competition is a tournament held at Mason near Cincinnati, Ohio. This event was first held on September 18, 1899 and is believed to be the oldest tennis tournament in the United States.

 

The tournament is the second largest summer tennis event in the US after the US Open, as the men's section is one of nine elite Masters 1000 tournaments on the ATP Tour and the women's event is one of five Premier 5 events on the WTA Tour.

 

One of the world's best men's tennis players, Rafael Nadal, will take part in the 2022 Cincinnati Open. Nadal will warm up before competing at the 2022 US Open and the Cincinnati Open is the right thing to do.

 

“I am very happy to be back playing in Cincinnati. I will go there," said Nadal quoted by Eurosport, Thursday (11/8/2022).

 

"It's great to be playing again in Cincinnati. Flying there tomorrow," the 36-year-old wrote on Instagram as quoted by AFP on Thursday (11/8/2022)

 

The 22-time Grand Slam champion will be seeded second behind world number one Daniil Medvedev. Meanwhile, the world's second-ranked player, Alexander Zverev, withdrew due to injury.

 

Former female tennis player of the year Serena William is also confirmed to appear at the Cincinnati 2022 event. The 23 grand slam champion will play in the WTA Cincinnati Open next month. This was revealed by the tournament organizers, Tuesday (19/7) local time


Apart from them, world number one Iga Swiatek will also participate in this tournament. It is also reported that former champions such as Victoria Azarenka, Madison Keys, Garbine Muguruza, Naomi Osaka, and Karolina Pliskova are included in the list of players who will appear in Cincinnati which will be held this August 13-21.
