Crocodile Delivers the Body of a Drowned Toddler. How come? There are video links

It defies logic that an estuarine crocodile in East Kalimantan's Mahakam Kutai Kertanegara River would bring and transport a toddler's body to the riverside for the locals to pick up. The toddler's family is looking for the body of a drowning victim. Unexpectedly, the poor toddler's body was not devoured by the crocodile.

Ziyad, a 4-year-old boy who had been reported missing two days before to being accompanied by the crocodile, was eventually found dead. Ziyad vanished, and it was believed that he had drowned in the Mahakam River.

Even this crocodile carrying the body of a baby was caught on camera by a security guard at one of the companies around the Mahakam River. Initially, this security guard did not think that this crocodile was carrying the body of a toddler. However, the closer the crocodile was to land, the clearer it became that it was the body of a toddler.

"A crocodile is swimming. What is that crocodile carrying?" Hopefully not people. Like a suit. Eh, this is this head, this is a person's head. This hand is floating in two. Oh yes, this is true," said the person in the video.

The crocodile delivered the toddler's body by biting his back. After dropping off the child, the crocodile appeared and sank three times and then left. Finally, the child's body was evacuated by a search team called by local residents.

Contacted separately, wildlife researcher Amir Ma'ruf stated that this phenomenon was possible because the crocodiles were often fed by humans around them, so it was like a form of gratitude.

"So the crocodile may have often been fed by people around it. The closeness of crocodiles to humans around their habitat could be a factor," said Amir, quoted by detik.com on Saturday, 1/21/2023.
