Musa Hasahya's life story is pretty distinctive. This 67-year-old farmer has 12 spouses and 102 children in total. Musa has 568 grandkids total from his offspring. Musa struggled to provide food for all of his wives, kids, and grandchildren due to the sheer number.
Because of this, Musa also took the effort to direct his wife to use birth control so they wouldn't become pregnant for a while.
"My income is decreasing with time due to the number of my family and the rising expense of living." Musa's statements described his deteriorating financial situation.
He gathered Moses' wives into one home. This was done to prevent these wives from having an affair and then fleeing with other villagers' men. A third of his children also reside in the same home as him.
Zulaika, Hasahya's youngest wife, is 21 years old. Zulaika has 11 kids as a result of her union with Musa. Zulaikapun consented to use birth control to avoid getting pregnant again.
"I am taking birth control pills as a remedy since I am conscious that my financial and economic condition is growing worse day by day due to the big number of family members." stated Zulaika.
Uganda is a country that legalizes polygamy. But that actually creates a new problem when the population cannot be controlled as experienced by Musa.
The latest news says that Musa, who is already in his old age, is starting to experience several illnesses so that he is no longer as good at working as a farmer. In addition, two of Musa's wives are said to have fled leaving Musa due to strong economic pressures
